Following an 11-second sneak peek on Wednesday, Warner Bros. has released the second full-length trailer for "Wonder Woman," the hotly anticipated solo film starring Gal Gadot as the DC Comics icon.

The trailer opens in the present day, offering a glimpse of a wistful Diana, who reflects, "I used to want to save the world, this beautiful place. But the closer you get, the more you see the great darkness within. I learned this the hard way." The narration not only signals a shift in tone, as viewers are thrown then into the midst of a battle between the Amazons and soldiers from the world of man, but also contrasts the Diana of today with the one from 100 years ago.

However, it's not all action and grave warnings (although there is a lot of action), as we're treated to doses of humor similar to that of the Comic-Con International trailer, with Chris Pine's Steve Trevor fumbling to characterize Diana as his secretary -- "She's a very good secretary" -- and Wonder Woman trying to make sense of female fashion of the era.

And don't forget Lucy Davis as Etta Candy, who looks as if she may steal every scene she's in. Asked by Diana how a woman could possibly fight in a frilly, layered dress, Etta responds, "Fight? We use our principles. Although, I'm not opposed to engaging in a bit of fisticuffs, should the occasion arise." Indeed.

Directed by Patty Jenkins ("Monster"), the film tells the origin of Diana, princess of the Amazons, who was raised on a sheltered island and trained to become an unconquerable fighter. But after American pilot Steve Trevor crashes on Themyscira and tells her about a world at war, Diana leaves her home to try to put an end to the fighting.
