In addition to a new trailer (which featured the briefest glimpse of god of war Ares), there was more marketing for Wonder Woman that debuted in China this week. Namely, an impressive, totally cool, totally cute manga-style poster.

The poster features Steve Trevor looking on from a pack of soldiers, Hippolyta gazing regally from Themyscira, and of course Wonder Woman taking center stage. The poster was designed by Chinese artist Zcool HJW. According to Zcool's personal website (and Google Translate) the artist has been a comic fan since childhood and was commissioned by Tencent Films (the Chinese production company backing Wonder Woman) to create posters and promo art for the film.

Social media response has been mostly positive, with former Wonder Woman comic book artist Nicola Scott even tweeting about it.

Set during World War I, Wonder Woman centers on the early days of Diana, Princess of the Amazons. After Steve Trevor, an American fighter pilot, washes up on the shores of secluded island paradise of Themyscira, Diana makes the decision to leave the island and join the massive conflict tearing through the outside world.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, written by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns,  and starring Gal Gadot as the Princess of the Amazon, Chris Pine, Robin Wright, Lucy Davis, Lisa Loven Kongsli, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui and David Thewlis, Wonder Woman opens June 2.
