X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE

Variety is reporting that musician Will.I.Am from the Black Eyed Peas will enjoy his first film role, joining the cast as teleporting mutant John Wraith. Their article also confirmed rumors that Ryan Reynolds will play Deadpool and “Friday Night Lights” actor Taylor Kitsch will portray Gambit.

G.I. JOE

Actress Sienna Miller told the Sunday Mirror that she’s learning how to drive and beefing up for her role in the toy adaptation. “I’ll be in LA for the next few months filming the movie ‘G.I. Joe’, and it’s like a ghost town if you can’t drive,” said Miller. “I’ve started taking boxing lessons, and I’ve also had to learn how to fire guns with live ammunition. I’m a baddie, running around kicking everyone while wearing tight, thigh-high boots. I’m getting muscles everywhere.”

THE DARK KNIGHT

They may be blurry, but Dark Horizons seems to be the only site that has photos of the Aaron Eckhart-based Two-Face toy from the new Bat sequel.

IRON MAN

Could this be a preview of the alcoholic Avenger’s new animated adventures? If you check out Marvel Kids, you’ll see three videos featuring two 616 cameos that could foreshadow the proposed animated series produced by France’s Method Films.

DRINKY CROW

According to Comics2Film, “Adult Swim on Cartoon Network has placed an initial order for 10 episodes of ‘Drinky Crow,’ based on Tony Millionaire’s acclaimed comic.”

JUSTICE LEAGUE: NEW FRONTIER

CBR News has a feature article with creator Darwyn Cooke talking about the development of the animated direct-to-DVD movie.

SPIDER-MAN 4

Superhero Hype got a note all the way from Brazil discussing an interview J.K. Simmons did regarding another sequel. “There’s talking and talking, on the character, on the possible movie. I’ve received several calls. But nothing firm on that,” Simmons said. “I do expect to be on the fourth movie, though. I hope so. I’m really able to do it and will be great playing that character again.” If you can read Portuguese, you can check out the entire conversation for yourself.

G.I. JOE/SPEED RACER

Actor Dennis Quaid gives up the plot spoilers in an article from Comingsoon.net. In the same piece, Quaid’s “Vantage Point” co-star Matthew Fox talks briefly about the film making involved in playing Racer X in his project.

INCREDIBLE HULK

Superhero Hype has the important data from Marvel’s earnings report, including notes that the big green guy gets a new trailer in March, as well as noting some animated projects like “Thor: Son of Asgard” in 2009 and “Planet Hulk” for 2010.

SMALLVILLE

Kryptonsite has added some new production stills for its upcoming episode “Hero.”

WATCHMEN

There’s a new blog from director Zack Snyder discussing closing down shop on principal photography and also showing a new production still showcasing a certain trenchcoat-wearing hero in action.

STILL KEEPING IT REEL

Email’s still down for the Comic Reel Wrap, so apologies for any delays in responses.

Anyhoo, we can’t do this without you. The rumors, the scoops, the set photos — they’re all fueled by passionate fans emailing in the goods. The ones who ask, “What do you mean your sister’s dating somebody who works for Miles Millar?” The ones who know the code names of movie projects and scour city permit filings for them. The devoted, the involved. Fans, just like you. Whatever you know, we wanna know, and whether you want your name shouted to the web’s rafters or kept closer than a classified report, we’ve got you covered like a comforter. Broadcasting live from Los Angeles, this is your humble scribe Hannibal Tabu saying thank you for your time and indulgence, and [tagline due to return with new WGA drafts shortly].
