Wolverine 2, Hellboy 3, Fantastic Four Reborn: Aug 31st Comic Reel

Deadline reports David Slade and Darren Aronofsky are being eyed for the directors chair. “I’d say Slade has the edge. He is coming off a big summer movie with large-scale effects, which makes the studio comfortable,” writes Deadline’s Mike Fleming. Slade directed “Twilight: Eclipse.” Aronofsky directed “The Wrestler” and recently completed “Black Swan.” He has been connected to comic book related projects before. He developed a “Batman: Year One” at Warner Bros prior to “Batman Begins.” He also was attached to a remake of “Robocop” that fell through.

Release date: 2012?

Ron Perlman tells MovieWeb nothing is happening with the sequel. “Not that I know of, but the world is full of surprises. Write your Congressman,” he says. “Hellboy” director Guillermo del Toro previously suggests Perlman may be the congressman to write to as he is tiring of wearing complex prosthetics in order to get work.

Release date: TBA

Steven Moyer tells MTV News he knows nothing about the Doctor Doom rumor. He also offers a bit less than the “Sure, if the script’s good” answer when asked if he’d take on the role.

Release date: TBA

Our old friend at Bleeding Cool suggests the sequel will follow the opening pages of the “Kick-Ass 2” comic fairly closely. Recently published in the pages of CLiNT Magazine, the second “Kick-Ass” series sees the title character training with Hit Girl as the two get ready to become the worlds first super-team.

Thomas Jane wants to be in the show, according to Popcornbiz at “That show is going to be a a big f—– hit,” he told them. “I’ve seen it and is fan-f—- tactic.” Jane hopes to appear as a human character and suggest he will be barefoot throughout his performance.

With all the travel, I think I’ve let stuff pile up in the office and at home. Philip K. Dick called it “kipple” and it seems the kipple around me has bred six or seven generations since Comic-Con last month, so it might be time for late Summer cleaning. Meanwhile, if any of you in the great, wide Internet discover something awesome, disheartening, or just plain weird, let us know! Take credit, come up with a clever nickname, or go anonymous. The choice is yours. Fresh rumors and movie news every weekday morning. I am Erik Amaya, ready for the future threat of what I’ll find the kipple.
