Following concerns about a leaked early script, a possible alien origin and a shifting release date, new photos from the set of the Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles may actually come as some relief to fans of the franchise. Note the use of "may" and "some."

The images, from Comic Book Movie, come with little explanation and no verification. However, they reveal some rather robust and detailed scale figures -- apparently the final designs -- offering a good idea of what the Turtles are expected to look like on screen.  We're also given a peek at Shredder, who's looking pretty, um, robust himself.

Directed by Jonathan Liebesman from a script by Josh Appelbaum, Andrew Nemec, Art Marcum, Matt Holloway and John Fusco, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles stars Megan Fox as April O’Neil, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, Jeremy Howard as Donatello, Pete Ploszek as Leonardo, Noel Fisher as Michelangelo, Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, Danny Woodburn as Master Splinter, and William Fichtner as Shredder. The film opens Aug. 8.
