We're the Millers and Horrible Bosses 2 directors Sean Anders and John Morris are on board the project, with Justin Malen (Bad Teacher 2) rewriting the script. Previous drafts involved a series of shark attacks that leads the Baywatch team into a drug-smuggling investigation.

Baywatch aired on television from 1989 to 2001, first on NBC and then in syndication.Known for its attractive stars, the California life-guard drama boasted a cast that included David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Nicole Eggert, David Chokachi, Yasmine Bleeth, Donna D'Errico, Traci Bingham and Jason Momoa.
