"Weird Al" Yankovic will join Scott Aukerman as co-host and bandleader of IFC's late-night series "Comedy Bang! Bang!"

The legendary musical satirist is stepping in for Kid Kudi, who in turn replaced Reggie Watts. Production begins today on the 20-episode fifth season.

"If you would have told me, when I was a teenager, listening and laughing along to Al's 'In 3-D' album, that one day I would partner up with him, I would have asked who you were and how you got in my room," Aukerman said in a statement. "Then I would have politely shown you the door. Because that's how I was raised."

Yankovic has appeared at least five times on "Comedy Bang! Bang!," but the last time he was regularly seen on television was on his short-lived 1997 series "The Weird Al Show."
