Pretty much every single hero that's appeared in Marvel's Netflix series will team up in next year's mini series "The Defenders." Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist and all of their associates (both super-powered and human) will band together to fight one common enemy -- an enemy played by Sigourney Weaver. Weaver, an icon thanks to her roles in "Alien" and "Ghostbusters" among many other blockbuster films, was first revealed as the series' still unnamed villain during New York Comic Con, and now she's opening up slightly about her exciting new role.

In a chat with Movies.com, Weaver talked about her work on "Defenders," which brings her back to New York City.

"I am doing The Defenders, which is a lot of fun. It has a wonderful cast, and we're doing it right here in New York, which means a lot to me," said Weaver. She then slyly joked about her character's motivations, saying, "Basically the four heroes come up against this really nice woman, who I'm playing. It's been a blast and I really love my character. I love the shows, too, which I wasn't familiar with before doing this. A real love letter to New York. To me they're not superheroes; they're people with a gift. It's just a different scale, and I'm really enjoying the scale of it. The apocalyptic thing is a little harder for me to understand."

Additionally, Weaver said that she's perfectly content with her role in the Netflix corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. "Well... I'm very happy being in the Marvel with a small 'm,'" said Weaver when asked if she'd ever be interested in doing a Marvel movie.
