#TeamCap and #TeamIronMan just drafted their worst recruits.

In a sketch that honors the Merry Marvel manner of Not Brand Ecch, comedy stars Tony Hale and Adam Pally play a pair of committed Civil War re-enactors hellbent on breathing life into the conflict between Steve Rogers and Tony Stark through a dramatic re-staging of events. The epic, 13-minute send-up eschews fandom at its silliest, delusion at its finest, passions at their strongest, and uniforms at their saggiest.

The new video from FunnyorDie shows what happens when the practices of historical Civil War re-enactments join forces with drug-store-level cosplay -- and you won't believe this, but things get shouty. Check it out below.

Hale ("Veep," "Arrested Development") plays Chad Winters, an Iron Man-obsessed absentee dad, while Pally ("The Mindy Project," "Happy Endings," "Iron Man 3") plays Angus Gentry, a Captain America acolyte who maybe definitely shares sympathies with the Confederacy. After long preparation, and even longer simmering tensions between the two, the would-be Avengers are ready for their big stunt -- re-enacting the Marvel blockbuster's sprawling airport fight scene, for the entertainment of their loved ones (and selves).

The sketch has good-spirited fun with how self-serious certain superhero stories can become, and how self-serious fans can get, but it is mostly a loving testament to the powerful hold superheroes have on today's imaginations. Sound off on what you think of the sketch in the comments.

And, as always, make sure to stick around for the Marvel-style closing teaser.
