The Internet has been going nuts for porgs, an alien species Star Wars: The Last Jedi director Rian Johnson explained was inspired by the puffins he saw while filming on the Irish island of Skellig Michael. Along with the Caretakers, porgs are one of the alien species that has been keeping Luke Skywalker company during his self-imposed exile.

The adorable creatures are set to make an appearance in the upcoming film, but before we see them on the big screen, a new animated clip from the official Star Wars YouTube channel features the creatures' mischievous side as they pester the lovable BB-8.

Titled "Keep Away," the clip shows a small group of porgs running while carrying BB-8's head, with the droid's soccer ball-like body in hot pursuit. After retrieving his head, BB-8 flees from a much larger horde of porgs.

The clip is part of Star Wars Blips, a series of short clips featuring BB-8 -- with guest appearances from R2-D2 and other fan favorites -- in humorous situations. There have been a total of five animations released so far.

Arriving Dec. 15, Star Wars: The Last Jedi stars Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong'o, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Gwendoline Christie, Andy Serkis, Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran.
