While Oswald (Robin Lord Taylor) pays his respects at his mother's grave, a man wearing a dapper hat carrying flowers approaches. Oswald recognizes that the man is holding lilies, his mother's favorite flower. Reubens introduces himself as Elijah Van Dahl, an old friend of Oswald's mother.

When Van Dahl discovers Oswald is Gertrude's son, he begins to work backwards. Apparently Van Dahl and Oswald's mother were more than just friends 31 years ago, and Van Dahl springs a surprising truth on Oswald.

"Gordon and Bullock investigate a trail of clues left in a museum robbery, which, unbeknownst to them, were left by Nygma in a dangerous game of cat-and-mouse. Meanwhile, Gordon's past comes back to haunt him when an anonymous person threatens to expose his hand in Galavan's murder. Also, Penguin's visit to some old friends leads him to meet his father, Elijah Van Dalh (guest star Paul Reubens), and Bruce practices his street smarts."

"Gotham" airs Mondays on Fox at 8 p.m.
