Outside of Sandra Bullock and George Clooney, the only other actors who appear in Gravity make their impact through voice work. One of those memorable voices is the man on the other side of Dr. Ryan Stone's distress signal; little is known about the man, beyond his foreign language and dialect, and that he has dogs and a baby.

Now, much more about this man has been revealed thanks to Aningaaq, a short film by Gravity director Alfonso Cuaron's son Jonas Cuaron. It ties directly into Gravity, focusing on the life of the man on the other side of Stone's distress signal. The man is the titular Aningaaq, an Inuit fisherman in a remote fjord, living with his wife and newborn child and their many dogs — one of whom is not faring well.

Watch Aningaaq in full below, and head to The Hollywood Reporter for more on how the short came to fruition.
