For years, various attempts were made at adapting Garth Ennis and Steve Dillon's celebrated Vertigo series "Preacher" as a TV series or film. That work has finally paid off in the form of an upcoming TV show on AMC, and the first trailer for the series debuted Sunday night during a 90-minute episode of the network's fellow comic book adaptation "The Walking Dead." Shortly after airing, AMC released the clip online; featuring Dominic Cooper as Jesse Custer and Joe Gilgun as Cassidy, plus quick glimpses of Ruth Negga as Tulip O'Hare.

"Preacher" was developed for TV by the duo of Seth Rogen & Evan Goldberg (who directed the pilot together), alongside "Breaking Bad" veteran Sam Catlin (who wrote the pilot).

"Preacher" is set to debut in 2016 on AMC, for a 10-episode first season. No date has been set for the series premiere.
