After last night's brand new Super Bowl spot highlighting a handful of new footage, we've officially entered fever pitch freak-out levels leading up to next month's "Logan." As if fans weren't already chomping at the bit to check out Hugh Jackman's (supposed) final ride as Wolverine, this morning 20th Century Fox released the first official clip from the third solo outing. Check out the one minute scene below, which among other things, appears to confirm both the movie's darker tone, and its general badassery.

"You know the drill," says the naive hired thug, and he's not exactly wrong. After fifteen years watching Jackman slice and dice his way through enemies, even though audiences pretty sure you know what's gonna happen next, it doesn't make it any less enjoyable watching Logan snap a shotgun over his knee after bashing a bully's nose. It's also worth noting Wolverine's numerous scars underneath that cool guy muscle shirt, the image definitely driving home the fact that the older mutant has seen much better days.

Directed by James Mangold, “Logan" is set years after the epilogue of 2014’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” His healing factor failing, a weary Logan cares for an ailing Professor X in a hideout on the Mexican border. But his attempts to hide from the world and his legacy are up-ended when a young mutant arrives, pursued by dark forces.

Opening March 3, “Logan” stars Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart, Richard E. Grant, Boyd Holbrook, Stephen Merchant, Dafne Keen, Eriq La Salle, Elise Neal and Elizabeth Rodriguez.
