The Defenders finally premiered on Friday, exclusively on Netflix. One staple of Marvel's Netflix series is the inventive and impressive opening credits sequences that precede each episode -- and the latest team-up series continues that trend.

Marvel Television had a big task on its hands to mesh each hero's signature style together in the opening credits for The Defenders, and they pulled it off incredibly well. Not only does the opening title sequence bring together the signature colors of each hero -- Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist - but the designers managed to incorporate the cause in which they're uniting for: New York City.

The eight-episode miniseries brings these street-level characters together to save their beloved home. The Hand, under control of Sigourney Weaver's Alexandra and the other leaders of the criminal organization, plan to bring mass destruction to Manhattan, Harlem, Hell's Kitchen, and the other densely-populated NYC neighbourhoods.
