A year after the theme park was officially announced, Warner Bros. and developer Miral Asset Management have debuting the best look yet at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, revealing sections devoted to DC Comics superheroes, and Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbera cartoon characters.

Set to open in 2018 on the man-made Yas Island in United Arab Emirates, already home to Ferrari World, a water park, a golf course and a Formula One race track, the $1 billion Warner Bros. World will feature six themed lands: Warner Bros. Plaza, Gotham City, Metropolis, Bedrock, Cartoon Junction and Dynamite Gulch. Its second phase will include the construction of the world's first Warner Bros.-branded hotel.

Visitors will enter the park through Warner Bros. Plaza, whose Art Deco architecture pays tribute to the Golden Age of Hollywood. The streets of Tinseltown contrast starkly with the dark alleyways of Gotham, with its Joker Funhouse and Riddler-themed roller coaster, and the skyscrapers of Metropolis, which comes complete with its own Hall of Justice.

The Flintstones take center stage in the Bedrock area, with its water attraction, while the Looney Tunes and Hanna-Barbara characters come into play in the whimsical Cartoon Junction and Dynamite Gulch.

Warner Bros. World will be joined on Yas Island by SeaWorld Abu Dhabi.
