Warner Bros. is reportedly in talks to acquire the right to Frank Miller ("300," "Sin City") and Geof Darrow's ("The Matrix") "Hard Boiled," a comic that made its debut back in 1990.

According to Deadline, Ben Wheatley of "Free Fire" fame will direct "Hard Boiled," should the deal go through. The film is to be a co-production between "Sin City's" Solipsist Films and "300's" Hollywood Gang, and produced by Stephen L’Heureux, Bernie Goldmann and Gianni Nunnari.

"Hard Boiled" follows insurance investigator Carl Seltz who discovers, in reality, he's a killer cyborg tax collector named Nixon. Seltz eventually leans from a fellow robot that he's the last hope for their race to escape slavery.

"Hard Boiled" hasn't been given a release date.
