WARNING: The following contains spoilers for WandaVision Episode 5, "On a Very Special Episode...," now streaming on Disney+.

For the first three episodes of WandaVision, the Sentient Weapon Observation Response Division agency, aka S.W.O.R.D., was a background presence amid Wanda's sitcom-inspired reality. However, "We Interrupt This Program" finally took fans to the outside world to introduce this new organization and reveal how it came to monitor the situation in Westview.

At this point, S.W.O.R.D. is still a bit of a mystery, but fortunately, WandaVision's latest episode features a subtle Easter egg that makes a connection between the organization and Iron Man himself, Tony Stark.

In "On a Very Special Episode...," Monica Rambeau remote-pilots an old drone that is sent through the Westview barrier. While this drone is meant to observe only, acting director Tyler Hayward hijacks the mission and orders another operator to take Wanda out with a missile. Unfortunately for Hayward, his plan fails, and Wanda comes out of Westview, dropping all pretenses of her sitcom life to show that she is in control. She throws the drone back at S.W.O.R.D., and when it lands on the ground, it's revealed that it's branded with the Stark Industries logo.

It's easy to miss, but fans will instantly recognize the logo as the one that debuted all the way back in 2008's Iron Man. For the first three phases of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tony Stark was essentially one the central figure of this entire tapestry, and his presence has been felt in form or another in many films, from The Incredible Hulk to Spider-Man: Far From Home. And while the character died in Avengers: Endgame, he continues to have a presence in the MCU by way of WandaVision.

This new Easter egg indicates that Stark Industries has supplied technology to S.W.O.R.D. before. Since the drone is an older model, it's unclear if the company is still supplying the agency with new tech and machinery. However, since S.W.O.R.D. is now specializing in sentient weapons, it's definitely possible. After all, Spider-Man: Far From Home showed that before his passing, Tony had created a defense system called E.D.I.T.H., which was comprised of hundreds of drones that could be dispatched anywhere in the world. These may not be the same drones, but they are definitely made by the same company.

The presence of this Easter egg is a fun nod for fans, but it may also have a deeper meaning. The first episode of WandaVision included an in-universe commercial that referenced Stark Industries, and now, the company makes another appearance. Perhaps upcoming episodes will feature other nods to the company, which will just go to show that even though Tony is gone, he isn't done influencing the universe he had a hand in building.

Written by Jac Schaeffer and directed by Matt Shakman, WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as Vision, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau and Kathryn Hahn as Agnes. New episodes air Fridays on Disney+.
