SPOILER WARNING: The following article contains major spoilers for "Say Yes," tonight’s episode of AMC's “The Walking Dead,” which as of publication hasn’t yet aired on the West Coast, as well as the Image Comics series.

Even viewers who haven't read Robert Kirkman and Charlie Adlard's "The Walking Dead" comic book can probably tell that The Alexandrians will likely go to war any day now with The Saviors. And if the combat plays out onscreen like it does in the Image Comics series, it will unfold over a considerable amount of time -- perhaps in the entire back half of its current seventh season and maybe even a few episodes in the eighth.

However, the end of tonight's episode, "Say Yes," hints that the battle could end much earlier than any of us expect. Frustrated that Rick and the other Alexandrians are taking so long to go after The Saviors, Rosita decides to take matters into her own hands. Brandishing one of the heavier-duty sniper rifles from Rick and Michonne's scavenging mission, she approaches Sasha about taking down Negan themselves. Sasha agrees, with both women recognizing that this will very likely be a suicide mission. It's worth noting that their decision takes place at the graves of Abraham, the former lover to both of them, and Glenn.

Although they seem determined to infiltrate The Sanctuary, there's a very good chance their plan could go awry. And even if they are successful, who's to say that the death of Negan will automatically mean the end of The Saviors?

But if Sasha and Rosita do complete their mission, it could be an interesting departure from the comic that may end the Savior conflict sooner rather than later. We'll see how this plays out. Stay tuned for more thoughts on this and more in tonight's full recap and review.
