The Walking Dead Promotes 3 Actors to Series Regulars

AMC’s “The Walking Dead” has just promoted three of its recurring cast members to series regular status ahead of the show’s eighth season premiere.

According to TVLine the incoming regulars are Steven Ogg, who plays Negan’s lieutenant Simon, but is probably still best known as the the unpredictable Trevor Philips in the video game “GTA V,” Katelyn Nacon, who plays Carl’s crush Enid and Pollyanna Macintosh, who plays the Jadis, the leader of the Junkyard faction of survivors.

The trio will now likely see their names alongside the show’s existing stars each week during the show’s opening credits.

Of course, becoming a “Walking Dead” series regular is no guarantee of longevity on the show — Season 7 saw a number of main and recurring cast members bite the dust, including fan-favorites Glenn (Steven Yuen), Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green).

With tensions between the various survivor communities spilling out into open conflict in the recent season finale, are any character truly safe?

Starring Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, Chandler Riggs as Carl Grimes, Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon, Melissa McBride as Carol Peleteir, Lauren Cohan as Maggie Green, Danai Gurira as Michonne and many, many more, “The Walking Dead” will return for its 8th season in October on AMC.
