Entertainment Weekly has debuted three Walking Dead covers for the new issue featuring Andrew Lincoln as Rick Grimes, Chandler Riggs as Carl Grimes and Norman Reedus as fan-favorite Darryl Dixon.

The magazine also teases its first look at the fourth season of the hit AMC drama, with new showrunner Scott M. Gimple revealing the newly expanded group of survivors will grapple with a mysterious threat from inside the Prison.

“The new threat is something you can’t just stab in the face,” he tells EW. “You can’t talk sense to it. You can’t make a truce with it. It’s beyond all that. It would be a threat in any world, but in this world it is much more terrifying.”

Gimple will be joined on Friday's Walking Dead panel at Comic-Con International by stars Lincoln, Reedus, Steven Yeun, Lauren Cohan, Danai Gurira, David Morrissey, Chad Coleman and Scott Wilson, and executive producers Robert Kirkman, Gale Anne Hurd, David Alpert and Greg Nicotero. The fourth season premieres in mid-October on AMC.
