Vivica A. Fox will reprise her role as Jasmine Dubrow in the sequel to "Independence Day," director Roland Emmerich announced last night.

The actress, who played the girlfriend (and then wife) of Will Smith's Capt. Steven Hiller in the 1996 original, joins Jessie Usher, Liam Hemsworth, Charlotte Gainsbourg and fellow returning cast member Jeff Goldblum.

"I am so excited n blessed 2 be part of this journey w u again!" Fox tweeted in response to Emmerich's announcement. 'U opened the doors 2 my career!"

It's also believed Bill Pullman, who played President Whitmore in the first film, will be back for the sequel, but his involvement hasn't been confirmed. Usher is set to play Dylan Hiller, the son of Fox and Smith's characters from "Independence Day." Smith, however, isn't returning.

Fox's recent credits include "Sharknado 2: The Second One," "Curb Your Enthusiasm" and the action film "Mercenaries"

“Independence Day 2″ opens June 24, 2016.
