For the first few months of "Avengers: Age of Ultron's" promotional tour, Marvel Studios kept the synthezoid Vision a relative secret. He was absent from all of the early trailers and his form is obscured by light on the official team poster. The character, brought to life by Paul Bettany, didn't even get his own poster until just a few weeks ago. Now, with "Age of Ultron" just over a week from opening, Marvel has revealed a massive bit of information about the new hero -- his "birth scene."

The clips were aired as part of Paul Bettany's recent appearance on BBC One's "The One Show." The two clips, one at the top of the video below and another about five minutes in, depict the Vision's waking moments and first confrontation with Earth's Mightiest Heroes.

Bettany spoke about his character, calling Vision the "flipside" of Ultron. "They're sort of two sides of the same coin, really, and there is a link between J.A.R.V.I.S. -- who I used to play and still play in this movie -- and the Vision, but I'm not allowed to say what it is," said Bettany. "But the Vision was fun. I loved playing him. You get to see him born on screen, which I will never get to do again -- I hope. And he's supremely powerful and omnipotent and yet totally naive and experiencing the world as it comes and wondering if he's going to be a force for good or evil."

Here's an isolated version of the clip:

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" opens on May 1.
