It was just last month that Vin Diesel was talking about returning to his Fast and Furious and xXx franchises, and now he's revealed big plans for another of his major properties. The actor took to Instagram to announce plans for a new movie in the Riddick series, as well as a spinoff television show.

In the caption to a still from 2004's The Chronicles of Riddick, Diesel wrote that his company's newly launched TV devision would be working to bring a show called Merc City to the screen. According to the post, the show "will follow the Mercs and Bounty Hunters of the Riddick Universe."

Diesel also revealed that "DT" (filmmaker David Twohy, who has written and directed every cinematic entry in the Riddick universe) is set to begin scripting the next Riddick film next month. The film will apparently be titled Furia, the planet which Riddick's people call home.

The Riddick universe launched with 2000's Pitch Black, followed by Chronicles and then continued almost a decade later with Riddick in 2013.

Last night Our company had a party to launch Our TV division. Very exciting. MERC CITY is a show that will follow the Mercs and Bounty Hunters of the Riddick Universe. Next Month, DT begins writing the next Chapter in the Chronicles of Riddick... FURIA. #HappyFurianFriday A photo posted by Vin Diesel (@vindiesel) on
