Last night's episode of "The Flash" moved the show into an entirely new direction; instead of being stalked by a villainous speedster like Zoom or the Reverse Flash, Team Flash is now stalking the future. In fact, they think that by altering certain headlines they can change the future, thus preventing the tragedy that could befall Iris.

The final scene of the mid-season premiere showed a woman coming through a portal from, presumably, another Earth. She arrived in Central City and held up a photo of HR Wells. According to the synopsis and new trailer for next week's episode, "Dead or Alive," Gypsy has arrived on Earth-1,, and she's here to claim the bounty on HR's head. Since Gyspy's powers are very similar to Cisco's, Cisco will challenge her to a Vibe-off, a glimpse of which we catch in the promo below.

DC COMICS’ GYPSY ARRIVES ON EARTH-1 – H.R.’s (Tom Cavanagh) past catches up with him when a bounty hunter with vibe powers named Gypsy (guest star Jessica Camacho) arrives in Central City to bring him back to Earth-19 to stand trial for his crime. It turns out inter-dimensional travel is illegal on their Earth. H.R. surrenders but when Barry (Grant Gustin) and Cisco (Carlos Valdes) find out that H.R.’s only hope would be to challenge Gypsy to a fight to the death, they intercede and Cisco offers to fight Gypsy instead. Harry Jierjian directed the episode with story by Benjamin Raab and Deric A. Hughes and teleplay by Zack Stentz (FLA311). Original airdate 1/31/2017.

Starring Grant Gustin as the Scarlet Speedster, “The Flash” airs Tuesdays at 8 pm ET/PT on The CW. The series also stars Jesse L. Martin, Tom Cavanagh, Carlos Valdes, Candice Patton, Danielle Panabaker, Keiynan Lonsdale and more.
