It's only been a few months since Sony officially announced plans for a standalone Venom film starring Tom Hardy, igniting rumors and speculation about everything from the spinoff's villain to the alien symbiote's possible future with Spider-Man. Now the latest tidbit suggests Eddie Brock may not be the only human host featured in Venom.

According to That Hashtag Show, Venom will also include Anne Weying, Brock's ex-wife and one-time symbiote host. The production is reportedly looking to cast an actress between the ages of 25 and 32 in the role. Although Weying is a lawyer in Marvel comics, her backstory is still unconfirmed for the film. This, apparently, will be in addition to Carnage as the movie's main villain.

In the comic books, Weying is paralyzed after being shot by the villainous Sin Eater, only to be saved at the last minute by the symbiote and transformed into She-Venom, a move that eventually leads to her depression and suicide.

That Hashtag Show also contends audiences should expect to see Marvel's Ultimate version of Venom, which implies that the fathers of Brock and Peter Parker once worked together to create the symbiote suit.

Directed by Ruben Fletcher, Venom is scheduled for release on Oct. 5, 2018.
