Today, Marvel revealed that Vanessa Marshall will play Gamora on Disney XD's "Guardians of the Galaxy" animated series. The announcement heralds her return to Marvel, as she played Black Widow on "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes." Her past credits also include "Star Wars Rebels," "Young Justice" and "The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy."

Last, but certainly not least, James Arnold Taylor will pull double duty as Yondu and Cosmo. Both characters appeared in last year's "Guardians of the Galaxy" live action film, albeit briefly, and were not featured as part of the main team. Taylor, who currently has a recurring role on "Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H," has also done voice work for Marvel video games like "Marvel Heroes" and "Lego Marvel Super Heroes" in addition to his starring roles in "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" and "Johnny Test."

Marvel has announced David Sobolov ("Robocop: Alpha Commando," "Transformers Prime") has joined the voice cast of "Guardians of the Galaxy" as Drax, a role he's familiar with from his work as the character on "Ultimate Spider-Man," "Marvel's Avengers Assemble" and "Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H."

Will Friedle was announced earlier today as bringing Star-Lord to animated life. Friedle is a longtime animation vet with plenty of superhero-specific experience, having previously voiced "Batman: Brave and the Bold's" Jaime Reyes/Blue Beetle, Deadpool for "Ultimate Spider-Man" and Bublebee in multiple "Transformers" shows. But perhaps his best-known work is as Terry McGinnis, the lead character of Warner Bros. "Batman Beyond" series.

In a tweet from the official Disney Channel PR account, Kevin Michael Richardson was confirmed as the voice of Groot in the upcoming "Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy" animated series on Disney XD and Trevor Devall was announced as Rocket Raccoon.

Richardson has an extensive resume of voice work under his belt, including guest spots on "The Simpsons," "Family Guy," "Ultimate Spider-Man" and "Young Justice." He even has some experience playing the character, as he appeared on "Hulk and the Agents of S.M.A.S.H." and "Avengers Assemble" as Groot.

Devall is also no stranger to the role of Rocket Raccoon, having played the intergalactic raccoon in an episode of "Ultimate Spider-Man." He has also appeared in shows like "My Little Pony" and "X-Men: Evolution."

"Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy" was announced last July at San Diego Comic Con 2014 during Marvel's animation panel.
