The World of Darkness can be a little complicated for newcomers to both the pen and paper and video games. The Vampires, for example, have their own laws, hierarchies and communities that make theirs a multifaceted world ready for players to immerse themselves in. Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines introduced those players to the complicated society of the Kindred and now, with Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, that world is about to grow a little bit larger.

Paradox Entertainment has released a new gameplay trailer showing off vampire society in Seattle and it starts with the obvious being explained by a mysterious figure: "you're dead." We then get a few glimpses of Seattle by night; it's a rainy, cheerless city. The trailer then explodes into a colorful montage of mystical abilities and fiery environments with flashes of vampiric figures in the middle of violent actions. Longtime fans might know what to expect, but for the newcomer, it's the bare bones stuff: "you don't break the Masquerade."

Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is a sequel to the 2004 cult classic. However, unlike in its predecessor, players will begin the game as a Thin Blood -- the weakest form of vampire -- having been created in an event called the "Mass Embrace." The customizable character will eventually rise up and be inducted into one of the thirteen vampire clans, five of which have been revealed with more to come after release, in the form of DLC.
