Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong has introduced the game’s third and final playable character Emem, in a new cinematic trailer.

The game’s publisher, Nacon, has described the game’s newest protagonist in the description of its trailer saying, "Although she looks like a young woman with magnetic charm, Emem is actually 100 years old. A former jazz diva, she now belongs to the Toreador clan after having been transformed by Hilda, the love of her life."

Emem will be one of three playable vampires that players will switch between during the narrative-driven role-playing game. Swansong's story will have a branching narrative, that will be decided through a series of choices made by the player for each of the three characters.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong is based on the World of Darkness, a series of tabletop role-playing games by White Wolf Publishing. The World of Darkness universe has been home to a number of video games, including the critically acclaimed Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines. The 2004 cult classic is set to receive a sequel, titled Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, although the game has reportedly gone through proverbial development hell, and currently has no release date, despite originally being slated for the first quarter of 2021 as early as last year.

Vampire: The Masquerade - Swansong is developed by Big Bad Wolf and will be available on PC exclusively for Epic Games, and consoles in Feb. 2022.
