Trevor Hairsine's variant cover for "Eternal Warrior" #1

Valiant Entertainment has announced artist Trevor Hairsine as its latest exclusive creative talent. Hairsine made his Valiant debut earlier this year on writer Robert Venditti's "Planet Death" arc for "X-O Manowar" and a four-issue run on "Harbinger" with artist Khari Evans. More recently, Hairsine was announced as the artist for Greg Pak's "Eternal Warrior" ongoing series, which launches in September.

"I had a blast working on X-O Manowar and Harbinger, and couldn't be more excited about launching Eternal Warrior with Greg Pak," Hairsine said in a press release. "Valiant's an incredibly exciting place to be, and I'm looking forward to making great comics with them for some time to come."

Hairsine joins fellow Valiant-exclusive creative talents Cary Nord and Joshua Dysart, who spoke with CBR at WonderCon Anaheim 2013 about his reasons for going Valiant-exclusive.

"I just like it scrappy and small. I like being part of that battle. I'm trying not to be negative about it, but I just don't think the corporatization of comics is a trend that really benefits us," Dysart told CBR. "Obviously, it's absolutely necessary and Valiant's a corporation, and obviously Valiant is going to be a war of attrition in a way because every book they add dilutes the line and every time they get bigger, theoretically they could become a Marvel or DC. But for now, it's a small company, the CEO is right here putting books on the table. I love that! That's who I want to be with. There's such a joy and collectivism about it."

But the horror and bloodshed of constant warfare has finally taken its toll on the man myth calls the Eternal Warrior...and he has abdicated his duties as the Fist and the Steel of Earth for a quiet life of seclusion. But when a blood vendetta from the distant past suddenly reappears in the modern day, he must decide if he will return to the ways of war...for the child who betrayed him thousands of years ago...
