UPDATE: Neil Gaiman has responded on Tumblr to a fan's question regarding the delay for "Sandman: Overture" #2, now slated for a Feb. 26 release.

"I understand your disappointment and sympathise. [J.H. Williams III and I are] both really sorry about the delay. It's unprofessional, and is mostly due to the giant signing tour I was on from June, and me not getting script written on the tour, with knock-on effects. We're hoping it'll be the only delay though."

CBR News has confirmed with DC Comics that high-profile Vertigo book "Sandman: Overture" #2, originally solicited for release on Dec. 31, has been delayed to February. As a result, the book is being resolicited, with existing orders cancelled.

DC's February 2014 solicitations are set to be released at 5 p.m. EST on Monday, Nov. 11. "Sandman: Overture" #1, by original "Sandman" series writer Neil Gaiman and artist J.H. Williams III, was released on Oct. 30 to widespread acclaim, and the No. 8 spot on the October direct market sales chart.
