"The Mummy," a remake intended to mark the official launch of Universal Pictures' new shared monster universe, has been delayed nine months in a calendar shakeup that also sees "Pacific Rim 2" and "Warcraft" pushed back.

Directed by Alex Kurtzman, "The Mummy" has been moved from June 24, 2016, to March 24, 2017, which leads a second, untitled monster movie to be bumped from April 21, 2017, to March 30, 2018.

The studio also nudged Guillermo del Toro's sequel to "Pacific Rim" from April 7, 2017, to Aug. 4, 2017, and Duncan Jones' "Warcraft" from March 11, 2016, to June 10, 2016.
