The legendary Japanese superhero Ultraman will soon be making his Netflix debut in a new anime series. However, before the show arrives, Netflix Japan has released a video featuring a jaw-dropping transformation sequence that should leave fans cheering.

As the video opens, series protagonist Shinjiro stands with his left arm extended in the air, as his wrist glows and a beam of light surrounds him. Shinjiro soon begins to transform into the new Ultraman, with the armor forming around him. After the sequence, Shinjiro stands as the new Ultraman, the Color Timer in his chest glowing like a star.

The clip continues, as Shinjiro's father Shin calls out his son's name in shock and Shinjiro gets ready to battle the alien Bemular. The rest of the clip features a battle between the two enemies, and while Bemular is clearly the more experienced fighter, Shinjiro proves to be no pushover, ending the clip with a kick that sends Bemular flying into a wall.

If this clip is anything to go by, the new series has managed to create a truly awe-inspiring transformation with its animation, and it also shows that, while Shinjiro can handle himself in a fight, he isn't immune from getting some hits from the bad guys.

Arriving April 1 on Netflix, Ultraman stars Ryohei Kimura (Eden of the East), Takuya Eguchi (Gosick), Megumi Han (My Hero Academia) and Hideyuki Tanaka (One Piece).
