The Hollywood Reporter has noticed something going on on Tyrese Gibson's Instagram account. The actor has posted fourteen images depicting himself as Green Lantern over the past four days, thus launching a not-so-subtle campaign to land the lead role in the DC superhero's upcoming 2020 solo film.

Gibson is no stranger to big franchises. He did three tours of duty as a soldier in Michael Bay's blockbuster "Transformers" series and has become a key component in the seemingly unstoppable "Fast and Furious" franchise. But Gibson's Instagram campaign indicates that he's looking to step out of the ensemble and into the lead as the all-new Green Lantern. The idea apparently first crossed his mind thanks to fan art created by Instagram user bosslogix. Later captions from Tyrese include the statements, "Idris fall back I got this!" and "I am fully committed to suiting up for this adventure."

Ahead of his 2020 solo film, Green Lantern is expected to appear in Zack Snyder's two-part "Justice League" film. The first "Justice League" film arrives in 2017. You can check out a few of Gibson's Instagram posts below.
