Habitat Skateboards Celebrates David Lynch’s Twin Peaks

David Lynch has teamed up with Habitat Skateboards to create a line of skateboard decks as an ode to the “Twin Peaks” series. The end result of the team-up is a series immortalizing characters from the cult series, including Dale Cooper, Laura Palmer and Audrey Horne — immortalized until you grind them off the bottom of your board, of course.

Beyond the decks, each of which costs just under $55, there are also T-shirts, a beanie, and even a “damn good coffee” mug. Be forewarned, however – though the site is taking pre-sales, at this point a number of decks are already sold out.

Debuting in 1990, David Lynch’s surreal and oftentimes disturbing “Twin Peaks” unlike most anything viewers had seen before on television. “Twin Peaks” told the story of FBI Agent Dale Cooper who goes to the town, sporting the show’s name, in order to solve the murder of the seemingly innocent high schooler Laura Palmer. Lasting for two seasons and then followed by the prequel movie “Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me,” the dreamlike crime drama was known for its oddball characters, bizarre dream sequences, frightening moments, and ramming the point home that nothing was what it seemed. To this day, Twin Peaks sports a healthy cult following and fans are eager to see what the third season brings.

The third season of “Twin Peaks” boasts 217 cast members, including series veterans such as Kyle MacLachlan, Sherilyn Fenn, Michael Horse, Sheryl Lee, Ray Wise, Madchen Amick, Miguel Ferrer, David Duchovny and Lynch himself, along with newcomers Michael Cera, Richard Chamberlain, Laura Dern, Meg Foster, Ernie Hudson, Caleb Landry Jones, Ashley Judd, Jane Levy, Trent Reznor, Tim Roth, Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Vedder and Naomi Watts.

“Twin Peaks” returns Sunday, May 21, at 9 p.m. ET/PT with a two-hour premiere on Showtime. Immediately after the premiere, subscribers will be able to access the third and fourth episodes on Showtime’s streaming platform and on Showtime On Demand.
