Tricia Helfer is returning to Syfy, and returning to the number six, but not to the role of Number Six.

Confused? Don't be. The Battlestar Galactica actress has been signed to a lead role on a new six-episode Syfy miniseries called Ascension, about a top-secret space mission gone horribly wrong. The show's premise is as follows:

“In 1963, the U.S. government launched a covert space mission sending hundreds of men, women and children on a century-long voyage aboard the starship Ascension to populate a new world. Nearly 50 years into the journey, as they approach the point of no return, the mysterious murder of a young woman causes the ship’s population to question the true nature of their mission.”

Helfer stars as Viondra Denniger, "beautiful, manipulative and dangerous," and a self-proclaimed power broker aboard the starship Ascension.

The new series comes courtesy of Smallville veteran Philip Levens, who serves as executive producer and show runner of Ascension. It's expected to premiere in November.
