More than two months after wheeling out Bumblebee's new vehicle mode -- a custom-built 2016 Chevrolet Camaro -- "Transformers: The Last Knight" has debuted his updated robot form. The "young, scrappy and hungry" Autobot is described as "loyal guardian and scout," and "second-in-command."

The fan-favorite Bumblebee made his live-action debut in 2007’s “Transformers” as a battered 1977 Camaro, and has been updated in each of his subsequent film appearances. He assumed leadership of the Autobots in 2014's "Transformers: Age of Extinction" after Optimus Prime went into space in search of the Creators.

A mainstay of the “Transformers” multimedia franchise, Bumblebee will move from supporting player to main character in 2018 with a solo film.

Directed by Michael Bay, "Transformers: The Last Knight" stars Mark Wahlberg, Isabela Moner, Jerrod Carmichael, Josh Duhamel and Anthony Hopkins. The film opens June 23, 2017.
