The Bumblebee Spinoff will mark the first spinoff from Michael Bay's Transformers universe, which will see the next film, Transformers: The Last Knight, hit theaters in June. It'll also mark the first live-action film for Knight, who has also worked on films such as ParaNorman and Coraline prior to making his directing debut with last year’s Kubo And The Two Strings.

Although the Bumblebee Spinoff is the only spinoff film officially announced, it was revealed last year that there is still the potential for more projects to be unveiled, as producer Steven Spielberg saw potential in five of the nine treatments developed by the writers' room.
