Movies, video games and comics -- oh my! This week's batch of collectible news and reveals runs the gamut from comic book-inspired movies and video games like "The Avengers" and "Injustice: Gods Among Us" to video game heroes along the lines of Nathan Drake and Sonic the Hedgehog as well as cult favorite films like "The Big Lebowski." Meanwhile, Kotobukiya presented a new Batgirl statue as NECA showed off their newer, bigger Kaiju figures based on "Pacific Rim." In other words, there was so much going on this week that we think you'll find something fun to feast your eyes on in this week's TOYING AROUND.

NEW 52 ARTFX+ | While the comic book world might not have known what to do when DC Comics announced their New 52 initiative, the collectible side of Geekdom got a shot in the arm with a flood of new designs. Kotobukiya has been working hard to bring as many of the new looks into their line of ARTFX+ statues. The most recently revealed entry in the line is none other than Batgirl, also known as Barbara Gordon. According to Koto's Facebook page, the piece will drop next June.

THE AVENGERS | After covering all the Avengers and Loki, Hot Toys still isn't done with figures based on "The Avengers." Coming soon, the incredibly detailed toy company will offer two Chitauri figures for your army building pleasure. You can choose between a Chitauri Commander or Soldier or just go for broke and get the 2-pack. So, all you'll need to do to recreate the film's epic finale is build a model of New York City, score enough of these interdimensional menaces to fill it and go to town with the heroes. Good luck!

INJUSTICE: GODS AMONG US | While answering fan questions over on their Facebook page, DC Collectibles announced that they do in fact have a Joker figure in the works based on his appearance in this year's "Injustice: Gods Among Us" video game. The figure will be available later this year along with a Batman in the 3.75-inch scale.

PACIFIC RIM | Much like the monsters in Guillermo del Toro's "Pacific Rim," the action figures from NECA get bigger and badder as they go on. The third wave of figures based on this year's film will include ultra deluxe figures of Trespasser and a battle damaged Knifehead. These two pieces, which are 50% larger than previous monsters and Jaegers, will hit stores in February.

SONIC GENERATIONS | First 4 Figures announced a new line of super-fast animal statues with The Sonic Diorama Collection. The first piece, called City Escape recreates a scene first seen in "Sonic Adventures 2" and then re-envisioned in "Sonic Generations." The foot-tall piece comes in a regular version as well as a glow-in-the-dark exclusive, both of which feature classic Sonic and new Sonic rolling on their boards.

THUNDERCATS | The Thundercats get a little more collectible love thanks to Funko later this year. On Dec. 17th, the company will add five members of the classic '80s cartoon to their line-up of Pop! Animation figures. The first wave includes Lion-O, Cheetara, Panthro, Mumm-Ra and faithful talking animal sidekick Snarf. Here's hoping the line does well enough that we'll eventually get Lynx-O, Robear Bill and the Snowman of Hook Mountain.

TERMINATOR 2 | Sure Arnold Schwarzenegger looks great decked out in leather as T-800 in "Terminator 2," but let's be honest, he looks way cooler after a few fights and serious scrapes later in the film. Hot Toys chose to make a battle damaged figure based on the classic James Cameron film's finale complete with bloodied body, differently ruined heads and a variety of weapons to use against T-1000.

ASSASSIN'S CREED | The Assassin's Creed franchise continues to rack up the collectible offerings thanks to McFarlane Toys. In addition to the variety of action figures coming out, the company also has a statue in the works. The first offering recreates "Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag" star Edward Kenway in 14 inches of resin. The piece is limited to 1000 pieces and will start shipping on Dec. 13.

FIGURARTSZERO STATUES | This week, Bluefish Tamashii Nations unveiled a pair of anime and manga-based FigurartsZERO pieces. They kicked off a "Sailor Moon" line with, you guessed it, Sailor Moon complete with Cutey Moon Rod and a crescent shaped stand. Meanwhile, there's also a new Dragon Ball Z piece featuring Super Saiyan Vegeta concentrating hard on his Final Flash attack. Vegeta will be a web exclusive.

STAR WARS | Sideshow Collectibles has done a great job of making a fleet of sixth scale Star Wars figures over the years. They seem to be continuing that streak with their latest reveal, the Imperial Probe Droid from "Empire Strikes Back." The toy stands on a Hoth base and comes with a light-up eye, moveable antennas, possible limbs and a squawk box. The figures ships next August.

UNCHARTED | Nathan Drake continues a long line of fictional thrill-seeking archaeologists including Indiana Jones and Lara Croft. Like his fellow explorers, Drake is getting the action figure treatment thanks to Sideshow Collectibles. This week they revealed a sixth scale figure of Drake as seen in "Uncharted 3." Highly poseable and packed with accessories, Drake also comes in a Sideshow exclusive version that includes a spier accessory and will ship next August.

THE BIG LEBOWSKI | "The Big Lebowski" has become a cult favorite since it burst forth on the big screen in 1998 from brothers Joel and Ethan Coen. The surreal tale of mistaken identity inspired everything from bowling leagues to festivals. With so much fandom, you can be there are plenty of collectibles in the works. Funko got in on the game with a wave of Pop! Movie figures and other offerings. The first wave of vinyl figures consists of The Dude, Walter, Donny, The Jesus and Maude. But that's not all, Funko also has the Dude as a bobblehead joining their Wacky Wobblers line.

FALLOUT 3 | Fans of the "Fallout" franchise have become very familiar with Vault-Tec's resident mascot Vault Boy. The happy little fellow pops up all over the place to explain power-ups, statistics and the like. Now, thanks to Gaming Heads, you can have your very own family of Vault Boy bobbleheads! This first batch consists of Strength, Melee Weapons, Energy Weapons, Perception, Enduarance, Repair and Lock Pick. These little guys can be purchased individually or in a box set of seven.

MATTYCOLLECTOR | Mattycollector is offering fans plenty of opportunities to save on their web-exclusive toys leading up to the holiday season.
