Most TOYING AROUND entries wind up looking like an eclectic mix of properties connected only by the fact that fans want to get their hands on them. This week, however, is a bit different. Sure there are movie-related reveals like "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" and more recent shows like "Breaking Bad," but roughly half of this week's new toys, statues and replicas are based on properties from the awesome '80s. We have "Predator," "Aliens," "Goonies" and more galore!

MARVEL MOVIE MASTERPIECES | Hot Toys set the internet abuzz this week with a pair of reveals. First off, the company posted a teaser image of their "Guardians of the Galaxy" line which looks to include Star-Lord, Drax, Groot, Gamora and Rocket Raccoon. Meanwhile, Jamie Foxx's Electro from "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" got immortalized in high quality, 12-inch plastic thanks to Hot Toys. The figure comes with LED lights in the body as well as a base and electric power attachments.

THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 | Electro's not the only star of "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" getting the action figure treatment. The star of the show, none other than the Web Head himself, scored a new 7-inch Marvel Select figure from Diamond Select Toys. The toy reflects Spidey's updated movie costume, sports 16 points of articulation and an apartment-like NYC base.

HOT WHEELS | Mattel's Hot Wheels brand is getting in on the Comic-Con International exclusive action with a trio of new pop culture car offerings. First they unveiled The Homer from the classic episodes of "The Simpsons" where our hero lends his name to a car he designed. Then there was the Aston Martin DB5 from "Goldfinger," complete with spy-tastic display box. Finally, Mattel teased a brand new Star Wars collectible that won't get named or revealed until next week, but you can check out the box!

MINIMATES | As usual, Diamond Select Toys covers many a pop culture base with their recently announced lines of MiniMates. The Marvel Zombies alternate universe earns a villain-specific 4-pack with undead versions of Dr. Doom, Sabretooth, Kingpin and Morbius. Meanwhile, Quentin Tarantino's "Pulp Fiction" also gets a box set, this one set at the retro Jackrabbit Slim's that includes Vince, Mia, Jodie and Lance. Finally, the RPG world of "Pathfinder" earned its own 4-pack, this one a Toys"R"Us exclusive featuring Valeros, Harsk, Merisiel and a Goblin Warrior. All will be out this fall.

BREAKING BAD | Walter White and the "Breaking Bad" gang came out in full force for Funko's first line of Pop! Vinyl figures based on the beloved series. The July-shipping line will include versions of Walter White and Jesse in their regular clothes as well as their protective suits, White as Heisenberg, Saul Goodman, Mike Ehrmantraut, Hank Schrader and two versions of Gus Fring, one of which is pretty spoiler-tastic.

THE GOONIES | For an entire generation, "The Goonies" marks a highlight in cinematic history. The tale of a group of kids running around in hidden underground caverns, dodging mobsters and discovering pirate treasure sparked many an imagination, but not much in the way of action figure goodness. That is until Funko added them to their Kenner-inspired line of ReAction figures. The August-shipping first wave includes Mikey, Mouth, Chunk, Data and Sloth.

ESCAPE FROM NEW YORK | Back in 1981, John Carpenter and Kurt Russell came together to create one of the decade's coolest, most iconic heroes in the form of Snake Plissken. Tasked with finding the president in the middle of the prison colony formerly known as the Big Apple, Snake keeps his cool among a truly unique and weird group of characters who will also hopefully make their way into Funko's line of ReAction figures. To kick things off, Funko has two different versions of the character with and without the jacket.

ROCKY | The Italian Stallion enjoyed plenty of love this week from NECA. The company not only showed off the retro 8-inch clothed version of the character from the original 1976 film, but also gave fans a first look at another of their NES-inspired variants. As noted in the Tweet the figure is based on the 1987 video game simply called "Rocky" produced by Sega for the Master System.

PREDATOR | Plenty of Predators fill the pop culture landscape thanks to a variety of sequels, toys and comic books, but back in 1987 there was only one, and he was formidable enough to take on Arnold Schwarzenegger's Dutch in the classic "Predator." Sideshow gives this alien hunter the respect he deserves with the Masked Hunter Legendary Scale Bust that measures in at 17-inches tall. The Sideshow-exclusive version comes with a Predator nameplate. Both ship next January.

ALIENS | Speaking of large scale collectibles based on '80s sci-fi properties, Hollywood Collectible Group just announced their first "Aliens" 1:18 scale vehicle. The M577 Armored Personnel Carrier from James Cameron's hit sequel features moving wheels and gun turrets and is based on the actual blueprints from the film. The HCG exclusive version comes with a replica of those blueprints as well as a bisected xenomorph in two separate pieces for more display options. Both ship at the end of the year.

MICHAEL JACKSON | Continuing the theme of the epic '80s, S.H. Figurarts and Bluefin Tamashii Nations shined the spotlight on their very first Michael Jackson action figure which ships in October. This one's based on the video for "Smooth Criminal" and comes with a variety of swap out hands, face pieces and more to recreate the most iconic moments including a shadow-shaped stand for that famous lean.
