The official trailer for Tomb Raider, which stars Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft, finally arrived last night -- and it looks very familiar. A new trailer comparison, which pits the movie trailer against the 2013 Tomb Raider game, highlights just how close the trailer was to the source material. IGN carefully pieced together a side-by-side comparison of both the movie and the game, and the similarities are uncanny.
Other video game adaptations haven't fared well at the box office, but -- because Tomb Raider is sticking so close to the beloved games that came before it -- the movie may look promising for fans.

The trailer arrived not long after the first poster for the film, which sees Lara Croft wielding a climbing axe, just one of many tools she'll turn into a weapon during the upcoming movie.
Directed by The Wave's Roar Uthaug, Tomb Raider stars Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft, Dominic West as Lord Richard Croft, Walton Goggins as Father Mathias Vogel and Daniel Wu as Lu Ren. The reboot hits theaters March 16, 2018.
