The cast of Marvel Studios' "Avengers: Infinity War" continues to grow in size. On the heels of the news that Zoe Saldana will reprise her role as the Guardians of the Galaxy's deadly assassin Gamora in the third "Avengers" film,  Tom Holland has confirmed that his friendly neighborhood Spider-Man will also suit up and head into battle in "Infinity War."

A series of tweets from TomHollandItaly show portions of an interview between Holland and Vogue Magazine, with one tweet translating Holland's confirmation using Google Translate. "It is they who convinced the Marvel (Downey and Evans) .. the producers wanted to be sure that I was the right person before you entrust three films over the next four years, including 'Avengers: Infinity War.'"

This appear to eliminate doubt on whether the deal between Sony and Marvel Studios excluded Spider-Man from appearing in an Avengers film. With filming set to begin this month and a casting call including a who's who of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, "Avengers: Infinity War" has the potential to be the largest superhero film in terms of total characters, surpassing "Captain America: Civil War."

Holland swings back into theaters on July 7, 2017 in "Spider-Man: Homecoming." Opening May 4, 2018, "Avengers: Infinity War" features a sprawling ensemble cast that’s so far confirmed to include Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Jeremy Renner, Benedict Cumberbatch and Brie Larson, among others. The film will be followed by a fourth "Avengers" film on May 3, 2019.
