Despite being from a grand, otherworldly realm filled with noble warriors and savage beasts, the "Thor" films have always had a strong comedic element to them. In 2011's "Thor" and 2013's "Thor: The Dark World," most of the comedy was derived from fish-out-of-water elements as Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) journeyed from one realm to another. On the whole, Marvel Studios' output has been comedic at times, with every film having at least a couple laugh out loud moments. That trend will definitely continue into "Thor: Ragnarok," a film directed by Taika Waititi.

While speaking with Fandango, Tom Hiddleston spoke about Waititi as a director -- particularly how he worked with Hemsworth to craft the funniest "Thor" film to date.

"Taika Waititi is such a spirited, hilarious individual, and he and Chris [Hemsworth] became very fast friends," said Hiddleston, who returns as Loki for the first time since 2013's "The Dark World. " "And what was great for me was to see their friendship kind of blossom and they brought out the best in each other and started making stuff up. I can confidently say this will be the funniest depiction of the character of Thor that you've ever seen. I personally have known for almost 10 years that Chris Hemsworth is hilarious. I think this go-round will be his chance."

Hiddleston also spoke to Loki's role in the film, particularly since it picks up after the end of "Thor: The Dark World." That film concluded with Loki taking over the throne of Asgard, having impersonated his father Odin. "At the end of 'The Dark World,' Loki is on the throne," said Hiddleston. "At the beginning of 'Ragnarok,' Thor has a few questions and Loki is endearingly enigmatic about providing answers." We saw some of those answers in the mid-credits scene of "Doctor Strange," which saw Thor seek help tracking down Odin from Strange.

In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok — the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization — at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger — the Incredible Hulk!

Directed by Taika Waititi and starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Anthony Hopkins, Cate Blanchett, Tessa Thompson, Jeff Goldblum, Karl Urban and Mark Ruffalo, “Thor: Ragnarok” is set to be released on November 3, 2017.
