To The Wall: Ever Seen A Movie With “The Suicide Squad?”

According to Variety, Warner Bros. is setting up the DC Comics property or Dan Lin (“Sherlock Holmes”) to produce as a potential franchise. Stephen Gilchrist from Lin Pictures will co-produce. Justin Marks (“20,000 Leagues Under the Sea,” “Hack/Slash,” “Street Fighter”) is penning the screenplay.

Lin’s a former Warner exec who set up his own Warner-based shingle at the start of last year. Besides producing “Sherlock Holmes,” starring Robert Downey Jr., Lin’s a producer on “This Side of the Truth” and “The Box” and an exec producer on “Terminator Salvation” and “Shorts.”

No information has been given on what characters will be featured or whether or not there will be any crossover with existing cinematic universes a la “The Dark Knight,” “Superman Returns” or “Constantine.”

There’s also no word on whether this will affect “Super Max,” which according to our May 20, 2008 report, will include villains like “The Icicle, The Floronic Man, Count Vertigo, Pied Piper, Blockbuster, Merlyn and even some big names like Joker, Riddler and Lex Luthor.”
