TNT has renewed its adventure series The Librarians for a 10-episode second season.

A spinoff of the cable channel's The Librarian movie series, the show follows a group of librarians, played by Rebecca Romijn (X-Men), Christian Kane (Leverage), Lindy Booth (Dawn of the Dead) and John Kim (Neighbors), who must protect the secret, magical reality hidden beneath the Metropolitan Public Library by an ancient society.

John Larroquette (Deception) and Noah Wyle (Falling Skies) also star as a caretaker and Flynn Carsen respectively.

The series became basic cable's No. 2 new series of 2014 with 11.4 million viewers across telecasts, DVR playback, Video-on-Demand and digital and mobile viewing, according to a press release.

The Librarians returns to TNT sometime later this year.
