Konami is bringing retro gaming fans a blast from the pizza-packed past with its just-announced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Cowabunga Collection, which includes 13 classic games.
The compilation, assembled by developer Digital Eclipse, is packed with Konami's TMNT action, beat 'em up and fighting games, originally released from 1989 to 1994 to largely rave reviews.
The collection includes:

- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Hyperstone Heist (Sega Genesis)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Tournament Fighters (Sega Genesis)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Fall of The Foot Clan (Game Boy)
- Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Back From The Sewers (Game Boy)

Especially memorable games in the collection are the original arcade versions of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Turtles in Time -- both of which were renowned for sucking up quarters from countless gamers in '89 and '91 -- along with their respective ports for the Nintendo Entertainment System and Super Nintendo Entertainment System. The often-overlooked Sega Genesis 1992 port The Hyperstone Heist, a renamed version of Turtles in Time that remixed certain levels, is also included.
The entire Tournament Fighters sub-franchise is also in the collection. Released during '93 and '94 for every major console, Tournament Fighters cashed in on the popularity of Capcom's Street Fighter II and pitted Leonardo, Raphael, Michaelangelo and Donatello against a crew of fisticuff-throwing opponents. Some of these opponents were commonly known TMNT characters, like Casey Jones, while others were deeper cuts -- like Armaggon, a mutant shark who originally appeared in Archie's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Adventures comic book series.
Aside from dozens of hours of anthropomorphic reptile karate, The Cowabunga Collection includes a Museum feature that contains development art and design material for the games, as well as online multiplayer functionality for four titles -- the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Turtles in Time arcade games, The Hyperstone Heist and the Super Nintendo version of Tournament Fighters.
The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles will also receive a new beat 'em up experience later this year directly influenced by Konami's '90s efforts. Shredder's Revenge, developed by Tribute Games Inc., features the TMNT, April O'Neil and Master Splinter duking it out in a pixelated fashion highly reminiscent of Turtles in Time.
The Cowabunga Collection launches on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam later this year for a suggested retail price of $39.99.
