Marvel's god of thunder is in for the fight of his life in the teaser trailer for "Thor: Ragnarok."

The trailer begins with Thor dangling in mid-air wrapped in chains, the film's primary villain Hela stop Mjolnir mid-flight and then shattered to pieces, Valkyrie working for the Grandmaster, Loki joining a fight, and finally, the gladiator pit where Thor is put up against his "friend from work," Hulk.

Although it happens early on in the trailer, one of the more surprising moments is when Hela is able to not only stop Mjolnir, but also break the mighty weapon with her bare hands. The ominous "Ragnarok" comes into play as well, as Hela enters the home of the gods and leaves its vaporized in her wake. In a lighthearted moment, Thor is forced to square off with his Avengers teammate, the Hulk. Thor sees this as an opportunity for the two of them to work together, letting out a raucous "YES!" and referring to the gamma-infused giant as his "friend from work." However, Hulk appears to be in a fighting mood as they charge and leap at one another to end the trailer.

In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!

Directed by Taika Waititi from a screenplay by Eric Pearson, “Thor: Ragnarok” stars Chris Hemsworth, Cate Blanchett, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Mark Ruffalo and more. It opens in theaters on November 3, 2017.
