Arriving like a clap of thunder after the new Japanese trailer, more than a dozen images from Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok provide a more extensive look at life on Sakaar, which appears to be equal parts Roman arena, Mardi Gras and Studio 54. In short, aside from the threat of death in the Grandmaster's arena, the are probably worse places for Chris Hemsworth's Thor to spend his exile from Asgard.

Of particular note is the photo of the parade in honor of the Incredible Hulk, one of the champions of the arena, and the Jack Kirby-inspired design of the Grandmaster's palace.

Directed by Taika Waititi (Hunt for the Wilderpeople, What We Do in the Shadows), the Marvel Studios sequel finds Thor banished to the barbaric world Sakaar, where he’s pitted against his fellow Avenger the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) in a deadly gladiatorial contest. Facing a ticking clock, the thunder god must fight his way back home in time to stop Hela (Cate Blanchett) from destroying Asgard.

Arriving Nov. 3, Thor: Ragnarok stars Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Cate Blanchett as Hela, Idris Elba as Heimdall, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Karl Urban as Skurge, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/the Hulk and Anthony Hopkins as Odin.
