A new Japanese poster for Marvel's Thor: Ragnarok makes the film's primary antagonist, Hela, the main attraction.

Played by Oscar winner Cate Blanchett, the goddess of death looks every bit the villain in the colorful new poster. While Wai Ching Ho's Madame Gao menaced Danny Rand on Iron Fist and Sigourney Weaver's mysterious Alexandra will menace the Netflix heroes on The Defenders, Blanchett's Hela is the first female primary antagonist on the movie side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

“I didn’t realize … I was inhabiting the first female Marvel villain onscreen,” Blanchett said last month. “I thought, ‘Surely not … well, no, actually that’s true.’ There’s been many, many, many [female villains] in the comic books, but [Marvel Studios] has been a little tardy in bringing them to the screen, so hopefully there will be a lot more villainesses.”
