This weekend brings the 14th annual Small Press & Alternative Comics Expo (S.P.A.C.E.) to the Ramada Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Columbus. Ohio, for what's billed as the Midwest's "longest-running exhibition of small press, alternative, creator-owned and art comics."

The two-day event, which kicks off Saturday morning, will feature more than 170 exhibitors, including Derf Backderf (My Friend Dahmer), Carol Tyler (You'll Never Know), Nate Powell (Any Empire), John Porcellino (King-Cat Comics & Stories), Lora Innes (The Dreamer) Tom Hart (Hutch Owen) and Joseph Remnant (Harvey Pekar's Cleveland).

There's also a full slate of events surrounding the convention, beginning today with "Panels in Pink: A Celebration of Female Comics Creators, an open house at the Billy Ireland Cartoon Library & Museum, and the official pre-party at the Laughing Ogre comics store. Sunday sees the presentation of the annual S.P.A.C.E. festival prizes. See the full programming schedule here.

Admission is $5 per day, or $8 for the weekend.
